From Tuscany to the Bosphorus — the Mediterranean on your plate. Exciting new Bondi opening coming in December 2025. 

We are looking for experienced Sous Chefs to join the team.  Experience in Mediterranean cuisine is highly advantageous. 

ABOUT SEFA

Sefa is more than a restaurant — it’s a voyage across the ancient heart of the Mediterranean Sea. It begins in Italy, where the art of simplicity and flavour is born. The aromas of basil and rosemary drift from the northern lakes to the southern islands, carrying with them the soul of la dolce vita.

From there, the journey continues to Egypt, where thousands of years of history and energy infuse every spice and dish. It’s a place where food is not just nourishment — it’s a mirror of civilization.


Then to Greece, where sun, sea, and mountains meet in a joyful celebration of freshness. Here, creamy cheeses embrace the warmth of Middle Eastern spices, creating an explosion of summer flavours.

Finally, the voyage lands in Türkiye, the cradle of bread, slow-cooked meats, and the poetry of shared meals — a cuisine where East and West blend in harmony.


Born in Italy, the owner has spent many years living and working across the Mediterranean — in Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan, Greece, and Türkiye. Each country offered not just flavours but wisdom: hospitality, generosity, and the art of turning every meal into a ritual of connection.
With Sefa, he now brings that experience to Sydney, inviting guests to “taste the history” of the Mediterranean — one dish, one spice, and one story at a time. Every plate is designed to evoke a region, a culture, and a memory, celebrating the timeless beauty of the sea that unites them all.


Sefa’s cuisine honours:

  • Italian craftsmanship – handmade pasta, olive oil, and coastal seafood.
  • Egyptian soul – spiced dips, grilled meats, and ancient grains.
  • Greek joy – fresh herbs, tangy feta, and sun-kissed vegetables.
  • Turkish warmth – Turkish warmth – slow roasts, breads from the hearth,
  • and desserts of pistachio, dates, and rosewater.

Atmosphere
The design will echo the Mediterranean spirit — terracotta tones, olive trees, sand- coloured textures, soft blue accents, and the scent of grilled herbs. The music, like the menu, will wander from Italian romance to Greek passion and Egyptian rhythm.
